Windsurfing
If surfing isn’t enough on its own, windsurfing takes it to another level. Soak up the rays as you soar through the wind and navigate your way using a sail. The most popular spots in Hong Kong for windsurfing (along with many other water sports!) are Cheung Chau and Stanley.

Kayaking And Canoeing
For a more laid-back option, why not try kayaking or canoeing? It’s a great way to get in a quick upper body workout and one of the best ways to enjoy the serene Hong Kong waters. Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)
Stand-up paddle boarding is as fun as it sounds and the good news is that you can rent a board at most beaches with watersports equipment! We love the beautiful beaches and bays around Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay, but you can also rent SUP at Stanley, Mui Wo, Cheung Chau and most other outlying islands. Super-keen on the SUP action? Kiteboarding And Kitesurfing
If wakeboarding had a sibling, it would be kiteboarding! While the two have similarities, kiteboarding depends much more on the right wind conditions. Without a doubt, the kiteboarding hotspot in Hong Kong is South Lantau and when the wind is blowing in the right direction you’ll see the kite surfers take to the waves! This watersport definitely takes a bit of practice so best to get some lessons first.

For our fellow surfers who need no introduction to this beautiful sport, Big Wave Beach is the spot to go. You can also take lessons at Shek O beach down the road. Surfing classes are a safe way to get an idea of what it might be like riding the waves solo. Fair warning: weekends draw in big crowds so be prepared!
